The first letter.
I found this leaflet at BOY 2012 in Luton and I checked the story behind Because I took a video and pictures of this at the show and put them on FB and youtube. After this I got a private letter from the joint manager of Th Bulldog Club Inc.
And we started a friendly conversation about this issue. You can see here the official version in three parts...
Dear Karen Hayward,
I’m a member of the Bulldog Club Incorporated for long years and I’m a committee member of the Hungarian Bulldog Section. I’am a bulldog specialist veterinarian who held a lecture about HUU in bulldogs and the Swimmer Puppy Syndrome in bulldogs in 2009., in Bratislava at the World Dog Show, World Bulldog Club’s Federation Conference. This HUU lecture was the first one in the row of the FCI, WBCF’s materials for bulldog health. I visit every year the Bulldog of the Year, that I enjoy a lot, where I learn much and make good friends. I have many top breeder friends in the UK. Some of the committee members of the Club are my personal good friends, too. After all this I was shocked and deeply upset when at the end of the Morning Show, in the coffee-break I saw the leaflet, that lay on the entry desk. I believe that you had no intention to defame the Hungarian bulldog breeders and that you haven’t even had knowledge about this leaflet. But anyways, it was on the club’s entry table, and nobody knew the answer to my question; who brought it there? The previous letters on the Facebook are private letters, so we kindly ask you to formulate an official statement as the joint manager of the Bulldog Club Inc., that the club disassociates from this leaflet. With my uncut video, my intention was not to defame the Bulldog Club Inc.. But also wanted to state that in the B.O.Y. show, it should be impossible for anyone to use the show to defame other nations. As for example Hungarians, now. I undersign this letter as a private person and as a committee member of the Hungarian Bulldog Section in the name of all our club members and every Hungarian bulldoggers. Our section has 70 members and these members are here, in Hungary, won’t sell a puppy under 9 weeks of age, and for abroad before its 15th week. Our section member breeders have a special stamp (golden coloured, cold stamp ) on their puppies pedigree. I enclose this letter a sample of it. Thank you for taking notice of my video, and I’m very glad to be able to work with you together in this shameless matter. It is the strong interest of both of us, the breeders, and our beloved clubs to stop these puppy stores and mills.
